My husband and I hired a contractor (not with Pillar) and first thing he hits a water line and causes flooding to our home as well as the town home next to us. I wanted a second opinion on how to proceed and came across Spencer with Pillar Resources. I explained what happened and he offered to come over immediately. He arrived within the hour and did an assessment of our home, as well as our neighbors home. He was professional and really helpful. Spencer stayed at the house until we had a solid plan established. I had forgotten to even ask him how much he was going to charge for his services and was completely shocked when he said that his services were free of charge and we could negotiate a contract if we needed additional services. He spent at least 2 hours with both my husband and, I as well as our neighbor, and he gave us his home number to text if we wanted his help the following day. This could have been such a stressful situation but because Spencer was ready and available to offer his knowledge and guidance our stress was relieved! Thank you!

Think twice...... Pillar services came out 3 years ago and did some drywall repair which they did a great job. It took a little bit longer than I feel it should have but, they got it done. They put some vinyl roll flooring in my laundry room, when walking on it barefooted, I noticed there was a rock underneath. They came out, tore it up and replaced it at no extra cost to me of course. They did a great job. They installed new laminate flooring to replace the damaged laminate flooring in my rec-room and it was great at first. As time went on it started crackling, making noise in certain areas when you walk across it. I had requested with Danny who I was working with several times to ask him to come out and take a look at it, it took me over 18 months to get him out here. In the meantime, the noises have gotten worse and worse! He always had an excuse why he couldn't get out here, he said we don't have people in your area, I was on vacation, I had brain surgery, it was excuse after excuse. He finally came out a few weeks ago and stated that the reason it's doing that is because it's on concrete. If that is the case, why did it not do it from the get-go? Did they not put padding under it that should have been there? I now have floors that are so loud that when somebody is sleeping in that room they actually wake up because of the noise. It is starting to feel like there is a dip in that area of the flooring and that it is moving. I let Danny know and all he said was I came out there and told you why it was doing that. So does that mean it's just going to keep getting worse and worse and it's not going to get taken care of? I asked Danny to let me talk to a manager and he said I am a manager. I would like to have his manager contact me and come out and take a look at this and see what can be done so that it does not crackle anymore. Like I said, it feels that there's a dip in there and it is so loud now I just can't stand it. My old floor never, ever did that!! Did Pillar install a cheaper floor than what I previously had there and that's why this is doing this? Did they put padding underneath it? I am not happy at all with this flooring, it should not be doing that after 3 years if it was installed correctly and the same quality flooring I had before. There's never been anything spilled or anything done that would cause the floor to crackle and feel like it's moving. It should not have taken him 18 months to come out to take a look at this. That is just ridiculous! When I contacted Danny and asked him to talk to a manager he told me the manager was on vacation and he would ask him to call me but could not guarantee that he would get back to me. He was upset because I had already did a review which I had removed after talking to him hoping that the manager would give me a call. Because I had mentioned to Danny when he came out that I had some scratches on the floor, he accused me of trying to get a free floor. His exact words were "I know what you're trying to do". I don't want my floor replaced, it's fine, the boards are fine. I managed to cover up most of the scratches. That is not my concern! I want my floor fixed so it does not crackle and make so much noise. I believe it's just a matter of putting padding underneath it. My daughter just had $40,000 worth of restoration done to her home due to sewage backing up into two bathrooms, a laundry room and closet. It included replacing a bathtub and shower walls and flooring as well as sheetrock, painting and molding. Because it took 18 months for someone to come out and then not fix the issue she opted to go with another company. So 2 to 3 weeks ago Danny told me the owner would be getting back to me. As of today I have not heard from him. I sent Danny two texts this week and he is either blocked me or he's ghosting me. What do you want to bet I will not even get a response from them. If I gave a good review, I probably would.

I highly recommend Pillar Resources as a general contractor. They just finished a complete home remodel for me- the entire kitchen, all new flooring, all new appliances, window coverings, lighting, millwork throughout, paint, etc. Their crew demonstrated professionalism, I completely trusted them in my home, and I was really impressed with their craftsmanship. They also handled packing up and storing all of my belongings during the construction phase. The project manager was present throughout the entire process, which really helped with all of the details. They guided me along the design process and I couldn't be happier with the end result. I would absolutely use them again and have highly recommended them (and will continue to do so) to my friends and family.

I was requested to repair woodwork on one of Pillar's jobs. It took nearly two months to get a net ten days invoice paid. No return phone calls, ignored emails. I finally had to write a letter to the homeowner. Not a contractor I want to work for again. One needs to pay their subcontractors and suppliers promptly.

Please read this review prior to choosing Pillar Resources, you may save yourself months of trouble, thousands of dollars, and a ton of headache. I had a water damage issue back in August 2017. I hired Pillar at the recommendation of RotoRooters after they cleaned up the water. In hindsight I shouldn't have trusted this recommendation because I assume they have a partnership or are a kick back affiliate for RotoRooters. In any case, Pillar gave me the whole speech that they would advocate for me so I shouldn't use a company that is recommended by the insurance company. At first, everything seemed fine but then the delays started. The original project manager I was working with was removed from our project and our new project manager indicated delays in our project were to blame for him being removed. The new project manager had no idea what was going on and caused us a couple months of delays trying to figure it out. No proactive follow up was done and I had to text/call/email every time I wanted an update or anything to be done. Multiple times the crew would show up at our house without warning knocking at our door at 8AM and waking up my wife and our son. I asked multiple times to please let me know the schedule or to alert me if the crew was coming and nothing until they showed up that day. Meanwhile, our entire basement had no flooring, was covered in plastic, and our kitchen was torn apart. We started to get progress after 7 months of the original indecent. We finally had flooring installed after 8 months. We had hopes that our project would finally be wrapped up. Then 2nd project manager was fired by Pillar and so the owner had to step in. I was relieved that I was working with the owner, at this point 9 months had gone by with over 7.5 months of delay by Pillar. Unfortunately, my hopes would quickly be shot down as the owner now claimed that our project manager didn't identify things that still needed to be billed and he wouldn't progress the work until he had gone back to the insurance company. He had no concern for our situation and took no accountability for the complete disorganization and disfunction of the situation. I asked for a list of the items, I asked for a breakdown of cost on things, I asked for when we would start again. No response. I sent a detailed email to him outlining every delay with dates and details. I pleaded with him telling him I have a baby on the way in 8 weeks and to please get this project wrapped up. I received no response from the owner. I called twice, emailed once again and no response. He finally responded and we finally got on a conference call after 2.5 weeks after that initial email. He provided a breakdown of materials and they charge double the rate of any consumer supplier. He provided no apology and no attempt at trying to make things right. Lastly, our last project manager promised he would do things for us because of the hardship and delay Pillar had caused us. The owner quickly replied he would not do "things for free" and now that project manager is no longer with the company. Half of my house has been unusable for over 9 months, my kitchen torn apart, my 2nd bathroom torn apart. I am still fighting to get this project wrapped up but we are delayed again. This is the nightmare I can't seem to end. I wish I could give this company 0 stars. Please don't make the same mistake I made. UPDATE 7/31 - It's great that Pillar responds to their reviews. Unfortunately, it appears they have time to respond to their reviews and no time for their actual customers. Still no response or update from Pillar despite multiple emails with questions.

Pillar Resources in Seattle is a contracting firm that was going to help me with a very frustrating issue in a house I was trying to sell. As I was working through some complications with an engineer that ripped me off, a real estate agent that made their clients have ridiculous demands, and general bad luck through the sale, Pillar seemed very helpful. However, it seems they just had me pegged (correctly I suppose) for a sucker. I paid 50% down on a project quoted at $20k (to support a wall that had been improperly renovated by a prior owner) so that they could do some drafting and be prepared to move fast if potential buyers demanded the work be done. In the end the work did not need to be done. We sold the house Dec. 17 and it took me most of 4 months to get the portion of that down payment that they didn't spend back. Somehow they managed to spend over $6200 (31% of their quote for the entire job) on the drafting stages. Assuming their quote wasn't absurdly inaccurate this means they would have pulled off the rest of the job (materials and labor) for only $14k. They had given me no indication on how much they were spending...I was expecting them to spend $2000, maybe $3000, certainly not anywhere near their 6. I told them I would trust their word and it seems reasonable that he would have given me a heads up when it was going to be so expensive. He never even indicated what he was spending and I had no idea until their invoice showed up a couple weeks ago. I still haven't seen the draft they supposedly spent 14 hours on and charged me $2000 for, even after asking for a copy. And the invoice they sent me had a bunch of site visits and drafting times listed but none of them had associated dates...which seemed odd to me but Randy Brooks was almost offended when I asked for dates to be included. At this point you can probably guess but just to say it outright, I would not recommend this company to anybody. Their "customer service" has left me feeling completely taken advantage of. I have no course of action unless I stoop to some kind of legal recourse which would likely just be throwing good money after bad so I guess this was an expensive lesson. Hopefully a few people read this and avoid getting ripped off by Pillar. At the very least their lack of communication has made me feel ripped off and at the worst they took me for a couple thousand dollars extra...it's impossible for me to tell because Randy Brooks doesn't respond to emails and only occasionally answers his phone. Last time I spoke with him on the phone I told him I'd like our interaction to be over (it took me so much time, so many emails and phone calls to get my portion of the down payment returned) but I need a copy of the draft and an invoice with dates for the listed services. He told me he wouldn't give me an updated invoice (thought that was absurd...) but would send me the draft which he still hasn't done several days later. He also told me he was sick of our interaction too and that he'd done "plenty of work" for me and wouldn't do any more...even though I paid him over $6200, was infinitely patient with his lack of communication and slow responses and, in the end, he never had to pick up a hammer.
