Update: JES reached out to me and addressed my concerns. They sent out a completely different crew to address the issues and completed the job as originally explained. The second crew was only supposed to be here for a few hours to fill in a trench with gravel but ended up taking two more days to complete. So an encapsulation that was only suppose to take three days turned into five. I’m not upset as I assume the second crew was about as impressed with the first crews job as I was and made sure the job was done correctly the second time. I am very satisfied with the second crews work. JES fixed the issues and completed the work they said they were going to do I just wish it’d been done right the first time. I would recommend JES but with the advice to be present while the work is being done, ask questions, and make sure to immediately address any issues so the job gets done correctly and to your satisfaction. Overall I am satisfied with the work that was done. My crawlspace has never looked better. Encapsulation so far was well worth the expense I can already tell a difference. No more moldy damp smell. My house is warmer and my furnace isn’t running as much. I’m happy I chose to go with JES over the other companies I got quotes from. ⭐☆☆☆☆ (1 Star) Extremely Disappointed – Poor Communication and Incomplete Work I was referred to JES Foundation by family and friends who spoke highly of their professionalism, punctuality, and quality of work. Unfortunately, my experience has been the complete opposite. From the start, communication was a major issue. I was told I’d need to be home for the beginning and end of the work. When I confirmed my appointment, I was informed the crew would arrive first thing in the morning. However, they didn’t show up until nearly 3 p.m. I called the company multiple times trying to find out where the crew was and ended up being transferred around and leaving messages with no real answers. To make things more confusing, I later received a call saying the crawlspace work would actually start the next day and that the mold crew was coming that day — even though the mold crew had already come the day before. When the work was finally completed, I was told by the crew that they hadn’t received an order for gravel to fill the trench in my crawlspace, even though my contract clearly included gravel and I was charged for it. Instead, they covered a 3-foot-deep trench with foam board. I’ve tried repeatedly to reach the crew’s superintendent to resolve the issue, but I guess he’s only available at 9 a.m. The one time he called me at that hour, I missed the call and returned it less than an hour later — only to reach voicemail and never receive a call back. I expected a professional, well-coordinated experience given JES’s reputation, but what I received was disorganization, poor communication, and incomplete work. I am frustrated, disappointed, and feel overcharged for services that were not performed as agreed. Sadly, I will not be recommending JES Foundation to anyone.

Just completed my annual service inspection on my sump pump. JES does a great job of proactively notifying me when it's time for the next check. The technician who came out (Michael) was very professional, timely and helpful. This is the 3rd or 4th year since the remediation work was completed in my basement. Its an expensive project but well worth it for the peace of mind it brings. I would definitely recommend JES for their expertise and after-project support.

Levi was very informative and pitched a great plan to resolve the water intrusion and damage it caused in my crawl space. Agustin and his crew were always on time, kept the area clean and tidy, and knocked it out of the park.

This review is for the inspection performed by Technician Doug McKeown on February 4, 2026. I had my crawlspace encapsulated by JES 2 yrs ago. The installation was not very smooth but the service after has been has been good. Doug was running late for our appointment but stayed in contact with me until he arrived. He was polite and professional upon his arrival and explained the service he was going to perform. He was down there for about 1 1/2 hrs servicing the sump pump and the dehumidifier and checking all the seams. While down there he noted items on the sump pump had not been installed correctly and fixed that then noted the insulation along the cider block walls had not been taped and sealed. He went around the entire perimeter and corrected this installation error. When completed he showed me pictures he had taken and explained the errors he had corrected and the wood moisture content and humidity reading at the time he was down there. Thanks for the excellent job Doug.

I am writing to call out the excellent job done on our basement in Staunton by the crew of David Coffer, Bryan Conklin and Taquan McCoy. It was a daunting project because of a flooded basement and everything completely iced over. They had to chop a 40 foot path through 6 inch ice to even reach the basement and then they had to drain 3 inches of water before they could start. There was not one word of complaint about any of this and it was truly pleasant just to be around them while they were working. They did a thoroughly professional job and seemed to enjoy doing it. Thanks, guys.

RUN! After extensive research, I chose JES for a water remediation project that included a drain and two sump pumps. Although JES was significantly more expensive than another company I considered, I was swayed because the sales representative, was from a reputable family we knew. Unfortunately, this made the experience all the more disappointing and hurtful. The $20,000+ project was no small investment. We paid our deposit and were scheduled, but the process was riddled with challenges. On the original date, there was too much water, and the team feared electrocution—fair enough. Their electrician later confirmed there was no electrical issue and said he’d speak to the project manager about rescheduling. The second attempt was canceled due to heat, but it was a no-call, no-show situation, despite their claim otherwise. Then, injuries among team members caused further delays. One injured worker even came to our home, which put us in the awkward position of worrying about his health while trying to get the job done before our vacation to avoid mold issues. Throughout the process, there were late arrivals, no-shows, and poor communication. I spent countless days at home. During the project, one team blatantly broke several AC ducts (with pictures as evidence), which had to be repaired adding to the frustration. After many failed attempts at communication, today we decided to file a complaint with the BBB and to give this review. We just would like to see the project finished, inspection completed, and reimbursement for one of the AC visits. All reasonable requests. Their total lack of accountability and willingness to make right is beyond comprehension. I am willing to edit & update this post, should that day come!!!!

The quality of work was 5/5 star, and the crew that did the work was extremely professional. HOWEVER the communication, expectation, and responsiveness from corporate was far less than ideal. A one-day project ended up turning in to 2+ weeks. For example - I was scheduled to have work done on a Friday. That day, the crew was a no-show. After multiple attempts of calling the office, I finally got ahold of someone where they replied "oh, the crew that was scheduled to do this work isn't schedule today." If you need to get ahold of anybody after you book your appt, the only way you'll ever be able to get ahold of after that is to schedule a free quote. They're quick to make the sale and take your money - but good luck getting ahold of anyone after that initial consult / sale.
