Our personal experience with PuroClean was deeply disappointing and has had serious health and financial consequences for my family. We brought PuroClean in after a leak created water damage behind a wall and under our floors. What we expected was the benefit of their expertise. What actually happened fell far short of that. During the work, their team uncovered visible black mold growth but never followed Texas’ required mold remediation protocols, and never recommended that we bring in a licensed mold consultant. There was no proper containment, no protective setup, and no meaningful communication about the risks. We continued living in the home throughout the remediation because we were repeatedly told everything was “fine” and “nothing to worry about.” Months later, after serious health issues began emerging, we learned—through medical testing and an independent mold consultant—that our family had been exposed to mold and mycotoxins. What makes this especially frustrating is how avoidable it all was. Had the job been handled according to state standards, or had we even been told the truth about what was found, we could have made informed decisions to protect our home and our health. This experience has created stress, financial strain, and significant health concerns for my family. Based on what happened in our home, I cannot recommend PuroClean, and I would urge anyone considering them to be extremely cautious and to verify that state-mandated protocols are being followed at every step.

In our experience, PuroClean handled the remediation in our home in a way that caused serious disruption, emotional distress, and long‑term consequences. We hired them to address water damage, and the work performed did not meet the standards set by the state or that we now know are appropriate for this type of job. The containment and cleaning process was not thorough, and contaminants spread to previously unaffected areas of our home. We later had mycotoxin testing performed through a medical professional, which indicated exposure in our family - something we believe is connected to the inadequate containment. Communication throughout the project was poor, and in our view, the failure to properly contain and remediate the affected areas contributed to widespread mold exposure in our living environment. When we raised concerns during the project, we were told “not to worry,” which left us without the guidance or urgency we expected from a professional remediation company. This experience has had a significant impact on our family’s health and overall well‑being. We would not recommend PuroClean based on what happened in our home, and we are now taking additional steps to hold the company accountable. This review reflects our personal experience, and we hope it helps others make informed, cautious decisions when choosing a remediation provider.
