Our first introduction to MVF was very positive an professional. Dan Rubenstein listened to our concerns and after an exchange of possibilities came back to us (within an hour and a half) with a plan; computerized, color-keyed, drawing and a contract with pricing and warranties, etc. Our experience on the work performed was all positive. A side note should mention our location compared to their base of operation did require flexibility with scheduling but Kevin and Michael worked very hard to make everything happen as possible and we appreciated their efforts. Michael and Kevin did not waste time and were always open to any questions we had or observations I made. We are only days out from the work they completed but they assured us of the Company's warranties and their work performed as well as encouraging us to call if we ever have a question.

I have used MVFS previously to encapsulate my crawl space and to install a sump pump in the crawl space, and was happy with their work. This review only applies to my most recent experience with them, which was to re-locate the exit of the drainage line for a sump pump that they installed in my crawl space earlier this year (2025). The heavy rain that we experienced earlier this summer revealed that the location where they positioned the exit of the sump pump drain line did not allow for adequate drainage of the water away from the house, and as a result a lake formed in my side yard due entirely to water from the crawl space being pumped to that location with nowhere to go after that (see photo). MVFS acknowledged that the exit of the drain line would need to be moved farther away from the house, closer to the street where the water might have some chance of reaching the storm drain. I am leaving this review for two reasons. The first is that I was told the job would take one day. In total, I believe it took 3 (possibly 4...I lost track) separate visits to complete. Their scheduler assigned the same work crew to complete multiple jobs on the same day. Typically, I was scheduled as the 2nd job of the day, and what this meant is that the crew didn't show up to my house until mid-afternoon at the earliest, which was not enough time for them to complete the job. Additionally, even on days when I was the crew's first job, they typically wouldn't arrive until around 10:30 after having driven down from Charleston. I feel like they should have been leaving Charleston earlier in order to get an earlier start. In general, it seemed like too many jobs were being scheduled for one crew to complete in a single day, indicating that either the scheduling team did not understand the scope of each job, or was disconnected from how fast the crew could actually work. Because it took multiple visits for the job to be completed, it was extremely disruptive to me because the contract required me to be there do a final walk-through with the foreman and pay the bill. I took off work each time thinking that that would be the day they would finish and I needed to be there. I also wanted to be there to ensure the work was being completed in a manner consistent with my expectations. The 2nd reason I'm leaving this review is because the crew was not equipped with the necessary equipment to complete the job. The new routing for the drainage line was adjacent to a large tree with gigantic roots in the ground. In order for the drainage line to be laid down, a notch needed to be cut out in each of the roots so that the line could be placed there. The crew did not have a chainsaw on their truck that could be used to cut out pieces of the roots so they could position the line. They went to Lowe's to buy a chainsaw, but their manager only allowed them to buy the cheapest chainsaw available, which was a battery-powered electric chainsaw. Unfortunately, the battery was not charged, so they had to wait for it to charge when they returned to my house. Ultimately, after the battery was charged, that chainsaw was not powerful enough to cut through the roots, so they had to make a second trip back to Lowe's to return it and purchase a more powerful gas-powered chainsaw. Rather than look at the chainsaw as an "expense", I would hope their management could view it as an "investment"...a piece of equipment that could be kept on the truck for all jobs in the future. Ultimately, I believe the gas-powered chainsaw didn't work either and they ended up using an axe to cut through the roots. Also frustrating was the fact that they had to use Lowe's for their purchases. The Lowe's in Savannah is about 20-30 minutes from my house depending on traffic. There is a Home Depot literally 5 minutes from my house. A lot of time was wasted driving to/from Lowe's that could have been otherwise spent working to complete the job. I was happy with the work crew itself and the quality of their work, but frustrated more with the crew's management.

Mount Valley came in to stabilize and slightly life the foundation. Will Adam and Over came in bright and early the first day and handled everything professionally and communication was excellent. They even went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied. Would highly recommend Mount Valley.

We hired Mount Valley to stabilize foundation. Kevin A and Michael M came in with the PolyRenewal and did a great job. Very little was disturbed other then 5 small hole that was easily patched with grout. They did a great job and were very friendly and informative. I would highly recommend.

Chris, Cody and EJ took what was a 2 day job and finished it in one. They left everything in the crawlspace clean and were very courteous. They were respectful of our pet and our home and also cleaned up their staging areas and equipment.

The estimate said three day project for encapsulation and subfloor repair. Starting September 22nd, completion was October 28th. More subfloor problems than originally thought. Crews never arrived before 10am. First crew finished subfloor and partially did a portion of the crawl space. I asked for a supervisor to check out the work done, I was not pleased. He was appalled by the crews work. Another crew came and ripped out all the previous construction. The final ten work days saw on site work done just four days and not more than eleven hours per week. The workers were all very pleasant and courteous. The final result was fine. My impression was Mount Valley had more work than they have competent crews.

Well Done Gentlemen!! When we discovered mold damage in our subfloor, we called 3 companies. Luckily, Michael Cox showed up. He provided a complete inspection, photographs, and solutions. We are thankful we chose Mount Valley. Michael displayed a thorough knowledge of the problems and carefully explained the remediation process. There were no surprises when the crew showed up. Now let me brag on the crew! We just had the pleasure of experiencing an exceptional level of workmanship and service from Joe W., Chris, and James from Mount Valley Foundation Services. We are delighted to share our positive feedback. They showed up exactly when they said they would. I liked the alert from MVF letting us know when the crew was on the way and providing tracking in real time. From start to finish, Joe, Chris and James were friendly, professional, informative, and exceeded our expectations. These guys worked every hour they were here. I don’t believe they even took a lunch break! And for no extra charge, they caught a snake! This team operated like a well-oiled machine. They made it look easy, but in reality, this was hot, dirty, uncomfortable work. It was clear they had experience working together. The team’s expertise and friendly manner left a lasting impression on us. We would not hesitate to recommend MVF Services to anyone.

Crawl space encapsulation and foundation support was done well by a Mount Valley Foundation team out of Charleston. There were a couple glitches because their boss appeared to skimp on the supplies that the on-site team needed to get the job done completely and efficiently. The quality of the materials and workmanship is quite good. Overall we are pleased with the outcome.

Will and Darryl went above and beyond to explain everything and fix anything they could. I had a large project, and for the money I spent, by the time they were done I knew it was well worth it. They involved me in every aspect of this project and were experts in their craft, to say the least. If you get Darryl and Will, you are in good hands. Best of luck, fellas, and thanks for everything. PS: During this project my cat went missing and we thought she went in the hole under the carport. We could not find her anywhere and were scared we were going to seal her in when we filled the hole. The guys halted that portion of the project for a few hours until we finally found her.

Matt assessed my foundation issues and provided me with a very competitive quote. He was very straightforward and honest. Will, Brady, Joe Willis, and Darryl then came to the house to install the piers, explained everything along the way, and were very professional. They all went above and beyond to ensure the job was done right and to high standards. Joe Willis and Karlo then finished by inserting the poly foam fill under the foundation to ensure it was solid and secure! Extremely satisfied all the way around, and would highly recommend them to get your foundation repairs done!
