After our family moved into a circa 1840 house in Walterboro, SC in the 1970s, an elderly neighbor gifted us with an original photograph of the house that had been given to her parents around the turn of the century. For the first time, we were seeing what our two-story home looked like nearly a century earlier when it existed as a one-story dwelling! With our family in the house for almost half a century now, the photograph is truly a family treasure! However, it was not in great shape and we wanted to see what could be done to clean it, and also to help preserve it. Being that it was a small job of only one photograph, we were pleased when Ben from Carolina Conservation took an interest in it and drew up a Scope of Work plan based on what we wanted to accomplish. We were gratefully impressed by the numerous exchanges with Ben leading up to the project. Carolina Conservation cleaned the original photograph and returned it to us in an appropriate enclosure that will help keep the photograph protected. They also made a high-quality digital reproduction of the photograph. It was enlarged and we were provided with four prints, one of which was framed beautifully using safe, appropriate materials. The final products were even personally delivered to our house in Walterboro. Based on our experience with Carolina Conservation on this project, we would definitely recommend their services.

Carolina Conservation was recommended to me to clean a needlepoint my grandmother made about 50 years ago. This piece was very dirty after years not framed behind glass with my grandparents that were heavy smokers. It also spent years in basement storage. This piece had a lot of sentimental value to me, so I was very concerned with how it would be cleaned. I was so grateful for the time Angel took to meet with me and the care everyone took with this piece. It turned out beautifully. It almost looks new!! I know this will be around for my grandkids.

The Carolina Conservation team is the best! We had a very serious house fire and lost a great deal. Of course, our art carried so many memories. Carolina Conservation was able to restore every single piece of art we gave them. They stayed in touch and were so very kind. Upon completion of the rebuild, they delivered all of the art back to the house in absolutely perfect condition and I was brought to tears. We couldn't be more thankful for the team, their kindness and all of the beautiful work they've done.

A fire in our house left virtually all of our artwork smoke and/or water damaged. We arranged for Carolina Conservation to attempt restoration work on about a dozen of our most precious pieces. They did a phenomenal job, well beyond our expectations. You not only can't tell that the pieces were damaged, but for most of them they're in better condition now than before the fire. Moreover, they sent their own representative from South Carolina to Nashville TN to inspect, package, and pick up the pieces and also delivered them well packaged and protected when they were finished. Definitely 5 star performance and service all around.

Carolina Conservation restored my Grand Parents picture. The picture was huge. It was 150 years old. It was so dark from nicotine and old varnish. They spend hours cleaning and restoring. The frame was black with a trim. It had years of paint speckles from each time the apartment was painted. We were so taken back by the contrast of before and after. The frame was green with a gold trim. Who knew. The painting was so bright and beautiful. So amazing. We were so impressed. We could not be more happy with the results.

I had a pleasant experience at Carolina Conservation. Everyone that participated in the restoration of my artwork showed interest and showed it tremendous respect, care, and consideration. The piece i brought to them was a hand signed and numbered silkscreen movie poster that I unfortunately tore along one of the edges while putting it in a frame. They explained the process of restoration and provided feedback regarding standard "one size fits all" frames. As a result, I decided to spend the extra money on a custom frame. When I received my artwork yesterday, I knew immediately that this was the right decision! The rip was completely repaired and almost invisible. The frame was classy and the craftsmanship was out of this world. I would truly recommend Carolina Conservation and will use them again if needed. Thank you!

I would be honored to give a review on Carolina Conservation. The whole team is so personal and very knowledgeable about art and various collections. If you need to repair, clean and conserve for the next generation, they can certainly do all the above. As an interior designer, I believe in preserving the past with collections, be it furniture, paintings, drawings, china and porcelain. We have to preserve the past, to have a future. Working with Jennifer and Massi was a pleasure, and I would certainly do it all over again. They have worked on three major pieces for our collection. Two pieces were oil paintings, and the largest was paper on linen. They can give you the good, better and best scenarios for the project you want to work on and will assist with budget concerns. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to share my experience about Carolina Conservation. Burton Hakins

We unexpectedly found ourselves in need of very specialized conservation services after our home was damaged by smoke. Carolina Conservation was the company of choice recommended by our insurance adjustor. We chose to accept his advice and entrusted a priceless and irreplaceable collection to their care. We immediately felt we were in expert hands and this continued until our pieces were returned, fully cleaned and restored. It was a bit nerve-wracking to load up a van with our prized items and to see it go down the street to an unknown destination. However, their communication was exceptional so we knew each step of the process. They treated our collection with absolute respect, care, and concern. Each person we encountered was as professional and capable as we could have ever asked. This unique and very specialized business was a true jewel to find! They gave us back a great deal after a most challenging event. We will remain forever grateful for the work they performed for us in our time of need.
