We called Roto Rooter to address our basement utility sink that was half full and wouldn’t drain. A specialist snaked our PVC pipe all the way from the house to where it hooks up to city water (our clay pipe had been replaced from the house to the sidewalk, in 2019, by Mr. Plumber). My husband was told there wasn’t any blockage and no sign of roots or other impediments. He flushed the toilet numerous times, as requested, and everything was back to normal. We didn’t understand why if there was no blockage why there was back-up yet it was fixed which is what mattered. We were given a six month warranty and paid $451.31. Thirteen days later, I discovered the same utility sink had completely overflowed this time and sewer water had gone from its location in the unfinished side of the basement all the way to the finished side saturating the carpet, coffee table legs, end table, couch and recliner legs and other contents. This is extremely frustrating, very upsetting and gross to say the least. I called Roto Rooter again, explaining the problem, the urgency, and requested prompt arrival. When they had come 13 days prior, we were given an approximate 9:30 AM arrival time. They did not come until 10 PM but did send a couple of texts saying they were running behind. We were made a priority and a different technician came to the house under the six month warranty, so there was no charge for this visit. It was explained to me that the six month warranty only included one return visit. Any future visits for the same problem would be out of pocket. I felt the six month warranty was misleading when given on the original date of service. This time we were told there were roots and dirt in the line (confirmed by camera footage) and that we would experience continued back-up until that part of the pipe was replaced ($6,500). Had we been told this the first time, we might have avoided sewer water and accompanying odor, clean-up, disposal of ruined items and the need to hire someone to sanitize the basement floor and partial walls. I called Roto Rooter and left a message with a supervisor, who returned my call almost immediately despite being home sick from work. He, Chris, remained on the phone despite being given the option to call back when better and back to work. Chris was attentive, listened to my concerns fully, was respectful and professional. He asked for my invoice number, explained things in detail, made the commitment to speak with both technicians tomorrow and call me back mid-morning. I said I understood he may still be sick and that I knew he would return my call at his earliest opportunity. He reiterated his commitment to talk with me tomorrow. I really appreciate Chris’ attention to detail, desire to obtain more information in order to better address my concerns, his promptness and thoroughness. My five star rating is for the supervisor. I’m withholding my rating for the services provided until I see how this will be resolved. Side note: I was told they are more expensive because camera pics are included. I said none were provided on the original date of service (probably because the specialist said there was no blockage?).

I had a terrible experience with this company but I just got a time to write the review. My shower handle was came off in the middle night. It was 2025-8-17, it was a Sunday. I called this company in the morning, they came in an hour. The young guy replaced the Moen cartridge, the handle worked but no water came out from the shower head. He thought the new cartridge didn’t work, then replaced another one. But no water came out from the shower head either. He had no idea and told me that I had to replace whole shower faucet. He charged me $310.8 for the service, even he couldn’t make water coming out from shower. Ok, I understood he came and spent time, it was for his time. Then I asked the quote for the replacement faucet. He told me it would be $960(including parts +labor+tax) if did the job on next day (Monday), it would be $1200 if I wanted to finish it in the same day. I was shocked. I asked him why is that expensive? He said the job would take 3-4 hours, and the first hour was $239. I was not happy with the price. You already charged me $310.8 and didn’t fix my problem, why would you want to charge another $239 for the first hour? After he left, I called another plumbing company, they came soon. 5 minutes later, the water came out from the shower. I could use my shower again! They only charged me $100. I would never, ever call Roto-rooter anymore, and would never recommend it to anybody. They don’t have enough knowledge to fix the problem and are not worth their charges.

Edwin did a fantastic job for me both last night and again when he came back to finish the job today. He spent his time to thoroughly explain the issue and then patiently went through the various options I had before proceeding. He was totally upfront with pricing and never tried to over sell or up sell me. He worked hard to keep it affordable for me; which I deeply appreciated! He took his time and did the job the right way. He problem solved when he encounterd several barriers and ultimately got the job done! Additionally, he took the time to help me sort out a previous customer service issue and helped take me from a frustrated customer to an extremely happy one with the top notch service he provided. I would recommend Edwin anyday and will request him going forward as long as he's with Roto-Rooter.

Absolute worst experience I have ever had with a customer based service. I called for a line clean out from my house to the septic tank on 12-22-25, a length of about 15 feet. After multiple texts and phone calls from Roto Rooter saying that i was next on the list, the tech finally showed up on 12-26-25. Four days after my first call. All he did was poke a hole in the obstruction, he did not clear out the the cause of the obstruction. He was in and out in less than 30 minutes, including unload and load of his equipment. Complete callous and unprofessional follow through. After paying Roto Rooter almost $500 for a shabby job, I had to have another company come out and do it the correct way. They spent close to an hour of snaking out roots that were in the line. I would never recommend or have Roto Rooter back to do anything ever again. Absolutely the worst.

Edwin was the technician sent to our home because our kitchen sink was plugged. We could not have asked for a nicer, hardworking gentleman. Our issue was resolved, Edwin stayed to ensure there were no further problems, and we feel that we were cared for by a true professional!

I had a main drain back up in the basement that soaked most of the rug. Mike came right to review clean up, as well as facilitate documentation to turn into insurance. He made an appointment for the containment team to come out the very same day to start preliminary work. His knowledge, explanation, and use of technology to document the damage was excellent. Thanks to Mike and Roto-rooter.

The guy snaked our pipe. The job was done quickly and my sister did not make it over in time to bring a check so I paid $403.00 in cash. I realized as soon as he left he did not give me a receipt. I called and they said he would return to bring the receipt. He never showed up. I called again and was told that they would send me a receipt. It has been over a week. No receipt and cash gone. Totally not professional at all.
