In late fall, our 1,500 sq ft ranch in Roseville experienced a fire in our living room caused by a lithium battery charger. After 4 dry chemical extinguishers and water from Roseville FD's hose, our house filled with thick, black smoke, permeating every corner and surface. Fibrous soot particles coated every surface, all personal items we collected for over 4 decades, and water soaked into the basement. The damage was surprisingly extensive, and we had multiple fire remediation contractors assess the situation. We were overwhelmed to say the least. In a moment of despair, we called Servpro on Martin & Groesbeck in Roseville. Their sales team, led by Jenny and Cody, saved the day. Unlike other contractors, they were flexible, relatable, informative, and transparent. Jenny's guidance was particularly invaluable and kept me grounded- she answered a ton of my questions and relieved a lot of my concerns. Cody was extremely knowledgeable and upfront regarding pricing, repair & remediation options. After securing a public adjuster to navigate our claim, and deciding to still host Xmas and NYE, we hired Servpro to clean our main living areas from floor to ceiling just before Thanksgiving. We were impressed with their efficiency, professionalism, attention to detail, and thoroughness. What they completed in two days would have taken us months of agony to do ourselves. At one point 4 people were cleaning our hallway ceiling at the same time! I gave Missy a big hug when she left- the team was great. What I learned: 1: Always do an initial walkthrough and another before the cleaning team leaves to discuss expectations. We noticed a few missed areas (front closet, basement stairs, recessed lights etc) afterwards and cleaned these ourselves. 2: Fire cleaning & remediation is not like a detailed house cleaning service and requires different supplies. They will remove soot & smoke, but your walls/ceilings will not be in pre-fire condition. If you're dealing with the aftermath of a house fire and want to get things back to normal- Servpro on Martin is the go-to solution for swift, professional, and compassionate restoration services.
