Simon the salesman for the southwest Michigan area did us DIRTY. Let me explain he came out gave us a quote. When a business gives you a quote, the price should be no more than that, boy were we wrong. We were told after WE did OUR demo he would come out and recheck and make sure everything was good to go for the company before they were to come in and break ground. Well guess what, Simon didn’t come back and check and then proceeded to tell the crew working that he told us and we failed to do what we needed too…It’s funny how he actually sent us text messages saying that he failed on his end by not coming back out. Then the day comes where the crew is starting work where they are demoing the concrete for the gutter system and my fiancé asks Simon to come look like he was supposed to to make sure everything is good because again he never came back out to make sure we didn’t have to do anything else. As the project began he told us we have to move our hot water and cold water plumbed in lines and four electrical lines out of the way and expected us to just have it done right then and there so they could keep on schedule for other projects.WE had to contact an electrician our selves and got lucky we could even get him in the next day after calling 7 other companies including the one he suggested… we were charged about 700 dollars for this. The best part he didn’t put the back wall of our basement in the quote and our project went from 25,000 to 30,000 with all the extra needs that were not discussed. The crew did not cut boards properly and destroyed our drop ceiling missed nails and screw bolts rushing to stay on schedule. The drop cloth put up was not placed all the At up on the ceiling leaving our belongings as a dusty mess. Then Simon didn’t say anything to ANYONE about the homeowner having electrician come back and make a new circuit for the sump pump to wire into the electrical box. He said we would need an open breaker dedicated to the pump and said that would all be included with the project which again was not true. This company only places anchors or beams they do no electrical work and do not have licensed plumbers installing there sub pumps they just have plumbers inspect the work finished. Again Simon our main contact said we might have to move somethings but never came back before all of this work was to be done and we had to do everything last minute cause lots of unnecessary coat and stress on the homeowners and everyone involved. This company will nickel and dime the home owners. And then the higher ups don’t return phone calls and don’t do as thorough work election of final work done like they should and if they approve this kind of work I would not suggest this company to anyone else. The brackets are half on half off when questioned about it we were told it will be okay. Okay isn’t good enough for 30,000 dollars of work. Tim Jones the Forman was fantastic and got work done however the company made him and his crew rush this project and I don’t think it reflex the work they would like to represent the company with.

Simon took a lot of time to make sure we understood everything they were planning to do. Then for the work, Jakob and his team (Denzel and William) were amazing! Overall great experience. Initial inspection was quick and thorough and FSM was available to schedule an appointment very quickly (<1week in my case). When the contractors arrived, they were thorough in explaining their process and started work right away. I had an interior drain installed along two walls with a new sump added that drained into the yard. The work took two days and the guys encouraged walkthroughs at various points to see their progress. A huge shout-out to my team Aaron, Kyle, Tyrone, and Mike! Very good communication throughout and did not hesitate to stop and ask questions. Thank you again for your service, would recommend FSM for future projects.

We had an absolute mess of a basement and crawlspace. After having several estimators come out, it was immediately clear that FSM was the right choice. Don was incredibly informative and helpful. He didn’t just teach me about their products—he gave me general knowledge that was genuinely valuable as a homeowner. He always answered my calls and texts, no matter the question, and offered guidance on anything basement-related. I can’t say enough kind things about him. The crew that did our basement—Jakob W., Denzel K., William H., and Eloy M.— worked HARD. Not only were they all respectful, but they put in at least 10 hours a day for four days straight to get our basement in order. Jakob maintained excellent communication the entire time. At the end of each day, he walked me through the progress and patiently answered my million questions with thoughtfulness and care. He even helped me move the water heater up the final step I couldn’t manage—and he and another team member carried it back down for me afterward. We will absolutely be calling FSM again for anything basement or foundation-related—and we’ll be asking for Jakob and his team specifically. I’m so grateful for their hard work, passion, and the consideration they brought to this project. Thank you to everyone involved—truly, a thousand times over!
