We had a backup in our basement and I will note that they got someone out very quickly on a Sunday night. However, the plumber was clearly rushed and didn’t get the clog out of our system, but actually pushed it further down. We had another backup the next day. Also, he cracked the toilet flange on our downstairs toilet. Went upstairs and removed our toilet, snaked in the wrong direction and it went on our roof and backyard. Then tried to put the toilet back on a clearly compromised wax ring, without saying anything. I spoke up and he charged us $100 for a cheap $2 ring. Left a huge mess in our bathroom with wax, mud, grass all over the floor. We had another plumber out 2 days later and they used the clean out under the utility sink (duh!). Got the clog out in 10 minutes and actually checked the main sewer line to see it was flowing. Don’t offer 24 hour service if you’re going to rush through every job.

Rick and his entire team were phenomenal! After doing a sewer scope and realizing we had some major repairs to do to our sewage system, Rick was available to talk through the inspection report and come up with a plan of action over the phone. Once he and his team were on site it was clear that Rick was very knowledgeable and very detailed in his work. He did multiple walk arounds of the property to get a sense of possible solutions for where our new pipes should go and all along the way he explained his thought process and kept me in the loop. Once they began digging and laying in new pipes they were quick and efficient and again very careful with how they went about doing this major repair. I am truly so impressed with Rick and his whole crew. Drain Detectives has been incredible and followed up with me to make sure that everything was completed to my liking and Rick himself came back to the property to make sure that lines were hooked up correctly and that the entire job was totally wrapped up to my satisfaction. I cannot recommend Drain Detectives enough. They have earned their name and are super helpful and get the job done right!

Great customer service. Had a backup in a sewage drain in my basement (not an emergency, but it was clogged and not draining) and they were able to make it out and take care of the problem within hours. Arrived exactly when they said they would and took care of the problem in minutes. On top of that the price was extremely reasonable. Will definitely be using them again in the future.

We recently had a major issue with loud hammering noises every time any water valve in the house was closed. It was especially disruptive at night — the sound echoed through the finished basement ceiling and was so intense near the master bedroom that we couldn’t run the dishwasher or washing machine without waking everyone up. Drain Detectives came out and performed a truly rigorous investigation. Mr. Trey took the time to trace the vibration through the system and pinpoint the exact source: excessive pipe movement at the entry to the shower valve, where both the hot and cold lines were experiencing the worst vibration. His analysis was thorough, methodical, and far beyond a quick “patch and go.” Once he applied the proper fix, the difference was immediate. The hammering noise is completely gone, and we can finally use our appliances at night without worrying about loud banging through the house. It’s such a relief to have our home quiet again. Huge thanks to Mr. Trey for his hard work, patience, and expertise. Drain Detectives delivered outstanding service, and I highly recommend them to anyone dealing with plumbing issues — especially tricky ones that require real diagnostic skill.

Update - we had the same issue with our drain 2 months after they came out the second time ( they did 2 separate hydro jets). The new plumber showed us with his camera all of the roots that were in our drain that were suppose to be cleaned out by Drain Detectives. I will never use this company again. I don’t write many reviews, but I thought my experience deserved one here. We had a backup in our bathroom drain and they came out and told us they would have to hydro-jet the pipes for $1,000. While it seemed like a lot, it was the only option they provided. Not sure why they couldn’t snake it but I went with it. They were able to clear the drain and the tech, Rick, noted it was due to some roots in the pipe that would need to be cleaned out every year or so. A month later we were surprised when the same issue came up. They were not very punctual with their timing and told us they would come out first thing the next day, but they didn’t end up coming until after 2pm and after several phone calls to the main office. They cleared the drain for us again without charge, but are now claiming that the pipe needs to be fixed that comes from the bathroom. It is hard to trust what they say when they are speaking out of both ends of their mouths. Essentially, we paid $1,000 for them to temporarily fix an issue for a month and that more work needs to be done. The worst part is that they will not provide us with a quote for the extra work that they claim needs to be done. I called the number provided and she noted she would get back with me later in the week, but it has been 2 weeks now and I have not heard back and have really lost my trust in them to provide me a solution to my problem. We will be taking our business elsewhere. Also: one of their employees dumped a ton of chips in our driveway when they got out of their work van (see picture). Not sure if it was an accident or not but very unprofessional to say the least.

Called this company out for the first time in 2023 because our basement laundry room drain backed up. They came out looked at it and said it was just a few tree roots and said the major issue was the access point behind our bar had a lot of tree roots. They cleaned it and also said we needed to replace pipes from the bar to the outside and the also added an access outside stating it would be easier to clean ($3500). We called them out again about a month and a half ago (June 2025) because of the same issue with the laundry room drain backing up they came out looked at the drain and said it was fine, but again the problem was that there were tree roots in the access behind the bar ($169). Our drain backed up not even a full month later so we called them again. They didn’t come out because it was a Sunday and “ no one was on call”. I asked since it hadn’t been a full month since they last came out and the drain was backing up again after they said it was fine would we be charged for them coming out to look at the drain since again they said there was nothing wrong with it “I’m not sure” was the response. My husband and I went to Lowe’s got a snake and a plunger thinking it was a clog. This seemed to do the trick the water went back down; so we called an canceled since we didn’t want to pay again for them to tell us nothing was wrong. On 9/4/2025 the same drain backed up again. We called a different plumber because we grew tired of Drain Detective telling us the same thing and just taking our money. Turns out the entire pipe has been corroded; multiple holes in the line and they told us NOTHING. They lied on multiple occasions. If they didn’t want to do the work fine but to not tell and to keep taking out money is very sleazy. From what the new plumbing company said there is no way they could have missed the issue. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with their service. Save your money and time and find a different more truthful company.

I hired this company to inspect my drain pipe after they showed me camera footage and claimed there were roots and dirt inside. They assured me the pipe could be 100% cleaned using hydro jetting, with no damage. Two technicians, Adam and another gentleman, came the next day with the hose. The nozzle got stuck partway in and couldn’t be pulled out for a while. When I asked if they had damaged the pipe, they first said it was already damaged, then later claimed they couldn’t be sure because of the pipe’s direction. After about 30 minutes of struggling, they finally removed the hose and did a quick water spray inside. I asked how the rest of the pipe would be cleaned, and they said the water would take care of it. However, the camera still showed roots and dirt—virtually unchanged. Their response: “That’s the best we can do. If you want better results, you’ll need to install an exterior clean-out system—for $6,000.” Despite the poor results, they charged me $1,400. I feel the service was overpriced and ineffective. To make matters worse, they had no digital payment option and wrote down my credit card information on paper, which raised serious privacy and security concerns. When I brought this up, one of the plumbers began yelling at me, claiming digital payments are unsafe due to hackers. This was a frustrating and disappointing experience from start to finish. I would not recommend this company—please be cautious before using their services.
