Bloomington “Professional” Carpet Cleaners were supposed to come today at 12:30pm for $75/2 rooms. I booked this Monday appointment on the previous Friday. At 12:35pm, I call the manager to tell him his team has not shown. He says I’m not on the schedule. He says I’m in the computer as Ben “Nickells” (misspelled even though I always spell out my last name out when scheduling over the phone). He says I have not had an appointment since February. I ask if he knows the person who took calls on Friday and if I could speak to him. He says he doesn’t and has no way of knowing. I tell him I have proof on my iPhone call history that I called on Friday. He says a team could come in 40 minutes but would charge $87, not $75. I say I was charged $75 last time. He asks what year I last used them, even though he just admitted I had an appointment February 2021. He goes on a long tangent about how the cost of carpet materials has increased 10% over the last year. I say it would be nice if they discount the cost back to $75 since that’s the price promised to me by the Friday phone operator *and* the price I previously paid in February. He asks if I have the invoice from February and I say yes, both the original laminated by me and a digital scan. Then he says, “Well, you know what, you can find yourself another carpet cleaner” and hangs up abruptly. I call several other carpet cleaners in the area. One calls back a few minutes later. I explain the situation, and this cleaner says he has received two other calls this week from people burned by Bloomington “Professional” in exactly the same way. If only the manager cared as much about customer satisfaction as he did about the macroeconomics of carpet materials. Oh well.

We were having trouble with our drier drying our clothing thoroughly... and we were starting to notice a spot of obvious moisture damage on our ceiling where the drier vent runs. We knew this was likely condensation from lint build up. We called and they made it a priority to come out. Thank goodness they did because the amount of build-up that they removed was astounding! They were clean, professional, knowledgeable and on-time. We are SO GRATEFUL!

BEWARE!!! Over the course of the job, which was supposed to be a quick one that stretched into two months, they were on average an hour late regularly. Once, three hours late! And once, they just didn't show up! No calls to let us know. No nothing.
