We recently hired Illinois Insulators in Downers Grove, Illinois, for insulation and mold remediation, and we couldn’t be more impressed with the results. From start to finish, their team led by John was professional, thorough, and highly knowledgeable. They took the time to explain the entire process, answered all our questions and addressed all our concerns. The insulation work was completed efficiently and with great attention to detail. We noticed an improvement in comfort almost immediately. Their mold remediation services were equally outstanding—meticulous, safe, and effective. They addressed the issue at its source and left the space spotless and healthy. What stood out most was the team’s courtesy and respect for our home. They arrived on time, worked cleanly, and treated the job with true care and expertise, and afterwards left our home as spotless as it was before they started. It’s rare to find a company that combines quality workmanship with outstanding customer service, but Illinois Insulators delivered on all fronts. Benny and John did a fantastic job fixing the insulation in our attic and sealing it from the outside elements. Their team was communicative and timely with the insulation. Benny and his team went above and beyond to help me with a massive attic problem I had. I bought my first home last year and calling it a "fixer upper" would be generous... It was a hoarders home. I was able to do most of the clean up myself, but the attic had thousands of pounds of junk. Amongst the junk, there was multiple dead raccoons and hundreds of pounds of feces. It took me weeks to find anyone who would even consider helping. And the quotes I received cost more than my car. Illinois Insulators was recommended by a friend of mine. Benny came by to take a look and without skipping a beat said no problem we got this. All for an incredibly reasonable price. Benny and his team cleaned everything out, sanitized the space, and reinsulated it all within a single day. It blew my mind. On top of that, his team saved anything from the attic they thought was cool or might have value for me to see when I got home. PLEASE NOTE: Some of the negative reviews I've seen posted here have nothing to do with the type of work that the Illinois Insulators team perform. I work in the HVAC and Plumbing industries and I've seen these problems time and time again. A leaking or burst pipe in your attic space is a plumbing related issue that would need to be addressed by a professional plumber. As for the condensation issues, if you plan to use insulations like Cellulose or Fiberglass, a basic attic fan will help exhaust the space properly to help remove moisture and condensation. This is listed on their website as the types of services they provide. However, if you are using spray foam to insulate your house or attic, YOU NEED TO CONSULT AN HVAC TECHNICIAN!!! Spray foam is very effective for insulating a home, but it also creates an air tight seal that does not allow any airflow, which will result in a buildup of condensation and mold. A basic attic fan will not be enough to accommodate this type of application. You will most likely need to install an ERV (energy recovery ventilator) that will help circulate air within the space that you've sealed with spray foam. Since the work Benny and his team did for me, I've received multiple compliments from other contractors and pest control companies saying how nice and clean my attic is. Illinois Insulators were incredible to work with and I would highly recommend them to anyone. THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH!

I would not recommend this company. I wrote a review for BBB and it is posted below. I wouldn’t want what happened to us to happen to anyone else. We have found another company who confirmed the damages in our home and is helping us remedy the situation. *** Illinois Insulators recommended removal of our insulation to install new insulation in our attic space in October 2022. It took a year and a half but we noticed that we began having condensation buildup in that space. The attic is connected to a living space for our family and is behind knee walls. We were concerned with the amount of moisture we discovered in 2024. Not only that, but we have a pipe in that space that was not insulated at all by them (or even addressed by the company) that burst in Jan 2025. It wasnt a huge burst, thankfully, but enough to cause concern as to why these werent insulated. We asked them to come back in Dec 2024/Jan2025. We were told that they could reinstall the insulation as it was in 2022 for a price. So basically, they would fix their errors for a fee. We just wanted the work done properly so we were going to agree to have it completed. However, the day they came back to evaluate and begin work in the space, they were going to install batt insulation on a WET roof deck. We decided not to go through with the install and contacted *****, the owner. He never returned the email or call. After that day, I contacted three other companies who all agreed we had significant damage to our attic, roof deck, mold, and we needed to have a proper clean up and reinstallation of insulation in the area.There are more details to this story but the basics are that Illinois Insulation improperly installed insulation in our attic which caused thousands of dollars in damage. We gave them an opportunity to correct their work and do the right thing by the customer. They chose not to, which shows the lack of customer care, integrity, and honesty by their company.I would not recommend using this company. I would not trust them to do quality, safe work in your home. I asked for a refund to help pay for the current damage and they refused. Update as of this BBB review, the owner did email (after I wrote the BBB review, as required by BBB). He said he could not refund our money as this was a purchased service and he could not do that. After all of this, I would not trust their company in our home, even if it was free…which they never offered to do.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Overall, professional, nice easy to communicate with. Benny came out and looked over the project and sent us a quote. We had a plumbing issue and they were flexible with scheduling, coming out twice to give us time to fix the leak. After the insulator(Julian) started the job, he saw some additional needs and re-worked the material needed. We were a little confused, Benny called us, explained the changes and worked with us on the final pricing. They are great to work with!!! Appreciate you all!
