On 11/1/24, I discovered a flood in my basement. I called the insurance company and someone would not be available to come out until the following week so I asked if it was OK for me to call a water remediation company and they agreed. ATL Water Restoration over scoped and overpriced the work they did. I questioned the belongings that were being thrown away and the amount of tear out they did in their remediation. They also brought out their own plumber ($1315) and moving company ($5,750). Within 38 days, I experienced a second flood and called out another plumber ($350 for a more through job), as their plumber wouldn’t speak to me nor did they fix the problem. Their moving company did a horrible job of packing/storing the furniture and personal belongings. They essentially over packed wardrobe boxes & they were so heavy the boxes at the bottom started crushing under the weight. Many boxes were unable to be picked up because they were falling apart & many items were broken. When the remediation company tore out the sheet rock, they didn’t even bother to remove the electrical plates and just ripped sheet rock off the wall so when everything was being built back, we discovered that none of the electrical outlets worked and all of them had to be replaced. They over scoped the work to inflate their billing. Additionally, after insurance paid, a lien was placed against my home from the dumpster company in the amount of $700. The insurance company paid them $980 in their estimate (they invoiced $1690). They are an unethical company & not only will my insurance company not ever do business with them or recommend them, but I highly regret choosing them to do the remediation. They also stated that they were accustomed to working with insurance company’s & many of their jobs were insurance claims. They not only refused to provide more detail of the invoice and over inflated their charges, but they also added a 10% overhead to the bill. I’m only giving one star because they were able to come out the same day and vacuum up the water. If you find yourself in an emergency situation, I would just highly caution having them do any further work beyond that and requiring a detailed invoice of the scope of work and what they plan to charge you. I would also get it in writing that they won’t be adding overhead to the bill. Additionally, before paying them any money, I would get lien waivers from them, and any subcontractors they hire. The flood was devastating and having to deal with ATL Water Restoration just compounded the devastation. I can provide more photos and have a file of all the items damaged during moving/storage.

I had sewage water overflow in my house. ATL came in 10 minutes and started handing the issue. In the subsequent days they treated the damage and explained to me everything that needs to be done. Every time they called before they came. They made sure to record all required data so that there are no issues with insurance. They were always very nice and considerate. They give an excellent and professional service.
