Basement Waterproofing

+

While it is common for most basements to have moisture issues, they shouldn't be ignored. Basement water and moisture management problems negatively affect your home’s health and structural integrity. Call or visit us online today to schedule a free inspection and find out more about our basement waterproofing solutions.

Concrete Lifting

+

Exterior sunken concrete patios, driveways, and sidewalks are frustrating for homeowners across the country. PolyRenewal™ is the perfect concrete leveling solition. It's a lightweight, high-density polyurethane foam that goes beneath concrete slabs. It quickly expands and hardens, lifting cracked concrete slabs back into place. If you’re concerned about sinking concrete, call today or visit online to schedule a free home inspection.

Crawl Space Encapsulation

+

Crawl space encapsulation creates a dry, hygienic, and safe interior space beneath your home that repels moisture and allergens. This can be achieved in many ways, but the main key component is a thick, durable vapor barrier to seal out the moisture from getting in. Encapsulation protects your property and creates a healthier interior climate for your entire home.

Crawl Space Repair

+

Problems like mold, mildew, high humidity, and standing pools of water are all signs that your home’s crawl space is in need of repair or crawl space encapsulation. Our crawl space repair solutions can keep your crawl space free of pests, mold, and mildew, and can help regulate temperature and moisture levels in your home. Foundation Repair

+

No matter how small it might be, even a little damage to your foundation will reduce your property value, and it can lead to dangerous structural issues. Together with drywall nail pops, uneven floors, and sticking windows, signs of potential foundation failure might be all over your home. My niece just purchased a home which had water coming into her basement due to an old, faulty sump pump. We called around to get estimates and found Nick to be the most knowledgeable and reasonably priced estimate. From start to finish, Groundwork was the way to go. Isaiah, Clayton, and Lamar were absolutely OUTSTANDING! They were all very hard & professional workers who were friendly and helpful. Isaiah was truly exceptional in his explanation of what was taking place every step of the way. He eased any concerns we had, and remedied the water issue. We definitely recommend Groundworks for quality workmanship and would use them again.

These guys did an amazing job! Originally we wanted to get just a quote on our crawl space on our new home. Nick took almost the whole day on a weekend during his kid’s soccer game to inspect every detail under there! We signed up that day. All of the guys working the job were excellent too - Alex, Eli, Terrel, and Brandon - thank you guys on the job! Took them no more than a day and a half to get everything back in shape. Couldn’t be happier with how it looks now!

Excellent customer service & inspection! I have a large crack in my concrete slab & other areas in the slab that show signs of sinking. This is my first home, and I have felt overwhelmed by the prospect of fixing this problem. In addition to the slab issue, I have a crawl space that needs help. I'm am so glad I called Groundworks, and they sent Brendan over to do my inspection. Booking online was easy, and Brendan called me the day before the inspection to talk about my home. He texted before he arrived for the appointment. He spent a lot of time with me walking through the house to look at all the problem areas. He also did a thorough inspection of the outside of the house. He was kind & patient in explaining what he was seeing. He also had several videos to show me which further explained what was going on with the slab and why it was cracking. The videos also explained how Groundworks will fix my slab issue & my crawl space issues. Brendan explained the work process, the warranty and continued services they will provide to keep annual tabs on the slab & the work they have done. At one pt, I had a question and Brendan called a colleague who is a foreman on these projects so he could make sure I had all the information I needed. We talked to Chris on speaker phone, and we decided that my slab should be stabilized, not lifted, due to the pipes inside it. The project will take place in a couple weeks. It will take 2 days (including demo of the current parquet floor), and will involve them drilling several holes in the slab in order to inject the polymer which will get into all the spaces washed away by soil erosion, moisture damage, etc that will keep the slab from moving further. I am blown away it will only take a couple days. In addition, the slab project will only cost approx $10k. I had nightmares about it costing upwards of $30k. (I just had no idea what something like this would cost.). I'm so impressed by the technology Groundworks will use, their reputation across the country and Brendan's outstanding customer service. I felt like I was being educated & supported about my home projects, not "being sold" anything. I will post a follow up review once the slab work is done. I have high hopes. I also plan to have Groundworks handle the crawl space project once the ground thaws. I now have confidence and piece of mind thanks for Groundworks. My house may not be a money pit nightmare after all!

Alex C., Brandon R., and Jayden G. did a wonderful job installing a pump in my basement cellar room. They went above and beyond to ensure that the pump would work efficiently while also concealing external piping to preserve the aesthetics of my home. They were meticulous about installation and cleanup. What a team!

Whole experience felt like a SCAM. My project took over 5 months to complete because of Groundworks not responding during my project. The salesman Ron was at my house for a 5pm appt. and stayed until after 12am showing us all of the expensive and proprietary materials that would be used in our crawlspace including the nice black door that is advertised on their website, proprietary footings, and cement board. We were pressured into signing a contract around 9pm but Ron stayed in our dining room doing admin work that he could have done at home. My other half even told him we had to go to bed after 12am since we both had work the next morning. When work started the town inspector forced the crew to stop working because groundworks was pouring cement footings instead of using the expensive proprietary footings that were sold to us and detailed on the permit. Town inspector forced them to use the footings that were actually sold to us in order for them continue their work. At some point during the job we lost communication with Groundworks and tried to follow up to figure out when our job would be finished - the main office would not return my voicemails and the Manager would not respond to me either. At one point I had to pose as a new customer and fill out the template on their website in order for someone to contact me. Once I pretended to be a new customer someone called me within 20 minutes and I was put in touch with a "new" manager. This new manager eventually stopped responding to me as well - long story short I was on my 3rd manager by the time my project was finished - all of them either left the company or wouldn't respond. Some time after this I came home and found the job was "completed". Nobody told me they were coming and I found my crawlspace closed up with a door made out of plywood that was sloppily cut and secured with one single hinge and bolt. This was not the door that was shown to me when it was sold to me with the price of $400. It looked like someone threw it together in a few minutes without measuring. Upon attempting to open the door it practically fell apart in my hands, the insulating foam detached and the door could not be closed again. We looked behind the foam board to check for the cement board that was also sold to us and listed on the permit, and there was no cement board. An electrical box was re-mounted in the wrong spot and the conduit was sticking WAY out from the house (5-8"). I sent pictures to Ron the salesman and asked why I did not receive the door that was sold to me? Ron called me and informed me that plywood was used in substitute of the cement board, and that he couldn't believe how bad the door was, and even asked his crew "is THIS what we do for our customers?!". After speaking with a DIFFERENT manager yet again everyone was in agreement that this door was unacceptable. It was explained to me that plywood was used in place of cement board because it was better, but a quick google search told me that cement board is more expensive and harder to install than plywood. At this point Manager #3 wanted to come out and inspect the work to see what needed to be done to finish the job. Because of how terrible their service had been, Groundworks agreed to install the actual door that I paid for, they could leave the plywood in substitute of the cement board, but they would place a vapor barrier and cover the plywood skirting with a waterproofing material and also properly mount the electrical box. Long story short the sheath completely fell off the plywood and it took forever to get them to come back and fix it. They agreed to take a sum off the price for how terrible the service had been (verbal agreement not documented) but on the last day of work tried to RUSH me into paying the FULL amount while I was busy during a work meeting. They then claimed they were unaware of my $2,000 deposit. They also tried to extract the payment TWICE before the job was completed. Update: Just received a somewhat intimidating call from Groundworks telling me to remove my google review.

Kurt Wehmann took us through the issues with our crawl space. He was amazing. He spent over an hour in the crawl space which is not fun. He told us all the options and what he thought would be best. He answered all our questions and was thoughtful and patient. Thank you. John and Laurie

Alex Pichardo, Brian Clayton and Jose Amaguay came out to my home and quickly reinforced my sinking addition. Great work by the team, thank you! I also have the peace of mind if there’s a future issue with the room sinking, they will come out and readjust the supports at no charge.

If you’re thinking about hiring Groundworks to lift and level concrete, one word, DON’T! What a nightmare dealing with this company. Thank God I recently bought the house and had a professional engineer’s report proving the damage they caused. After contracting with them to lift and level my garage slab floor and paying the deposit, they showed up at my house with one guy and one intern who it appeared to be his first day for a more than several thousand dollar job. After 6+ hours and staying at my house til 8pm, they showed me what they did and it was horrendous. The corner where my garage stairs and door into the kitchen was in complete disrepair. The slab was not lifted and level and in fact left with a U-shape pitch so that water now pools to the center of my garage stem walls on both sides and water percolates to foundation footings. They sent a service team of 3 guys out the next day to repair the cracked and sunken corner, more people than for the actual job itself! They inspected for over an hour and realized the job was severely botched and that fixing the corner was not going to be the solution so they told me the supervisor would need to contact me and left my house without completing any repair. Luckily I know Spanish and I knew they were saying I needed 6-7 feet of new concrete on both sides to properly pitch and fix this mess, and at that size it made more sense to just replace the entire garage slab floor. Anthony came out a few days later and denied obvious damage they caused all over my garage foundation walls including several new cracks and a new displacement. My garage kitchen door doesn’t even close correctly now because they shifted the foundation wall! Months later, Groundworks has not come back to repair my garage floor presumably because they know they caused other damage to the floor and walls and refuse to take responsibility. Anthony the supervisor has left me on read and I’ve been unable to get anyone else out from Groundworks to fix this mess. Now I don’t have a functional garage entrance for the winter and damage to my garage foundation walls.
