I’ve been a repeat customer of A-1, having purchased carpeting from them for a previous property and recently returning to replace the carpet in a unit I was selling. Unfortunately, this latest experience was disappointing from start to finish. The salesperson initially assured me he would help me find a “like-for-like” replacement for the original carpet, since the original product was discontinued. He suggested a similar option, which I selected based on his recommendation and photos of the space. While the carpet looked nice at first, it quickly began showing visible soiling after installation — far more than expected for new carpet that barely had any foot traffic. I contacted A-1 several times and provided photos and detailed information, but follow-up was inconsistent. After weeks of communication, I was ultimately told there was nothing the company would do. I wonder if the response might have been different had I not mentioned that the unit was being sold. Either way, the lack of follow-through and accountability was disappointing as was the product they recommended that I purchase. I’ve had good experiences with A-1 in the past, which makes this especially unfortunate. Based on this experience, I would not purchase from them again.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Bob, the owner, and his installer Mike. We purchased tiles in 2006 and flooring and carpet in 2019 for our new house.. Flooring was beautiful and about $3k less than where I found it at a competitor. When he measured my home, he showed me where we could keep existing tile in laundry room and save money. I appreciate the transparency and recommendation.Upon installing, I remember seeing a wet spill on the protective paper. Frantic (or neurotic 🤣), I called Bob with my concerns. He said I'll be over in the hour. I was truly impressed with his quick response. Recently, we noticed some issues with the flooring. Again, Bob and his team were quick to remedy the issue. They stayed in communication and did a beautiful job. It's a breath of fresh air to have a company stand by their work. Bob, Mike and Tim....thank you!!! We truly appreciate you making it right. Highly recommend anyone in the market for carpet, tile or flooring to go with them!!!

We had a dishwasher leak underneath vinyl flooring that spread throughout the first floor, damaging kitchen base cabinets/back splash and drywall in several areas. We received several bids from contractors but all were way beyond what our insurance adjuster's report provided. So we decided to act as general contractor and job it out ourselves. We first went to A1 Flooring because they had installed the vinyl flooring five years ago when we first moved in and were delighted with their work and pricing. After speaking with Robert there we learned that they offer a separate service called A1 Restoration that could handle the rebuild of the kitchen and drywall as well. The owner of A1, Bob Chamberlain, personally came out to give us the quote (which was much less than the others) and assured us he could work directly with the adjuster to make sure everything would be covered. We hired him and it was the best decision we could have made. He did meet with the adjuster who raised his estimate accordingly and the work began immediately. Every employee involved in this project was professional, knowledgeable, courteous and communicated their plans to us daily. Arturo is a master craftsman who rebuilt the cabinets perfectly and handled all the plumbing, drywall and painting. He worked every day until the job was completed and even came back to fix a minor issue afterwards. Mike led the flooring team and exhibited the same craftsmanship and work ethic as Arturo. This was a big project and all work was completed in three weeks and the results were beautiful - better than before the flood! We were happily astounded by the way Bob stayed on top of the progress and communicated with us nearly every day. He and his whole team do exactly what they say they will do on time, on budget and with total professionalism. We are customers for life!
