Incredible transformations are what this company is known for and they certainly delivered on ours. They took a dark damp basement and turned it into a bright beautiful guest suite. The moisture barrier and insulation they added have made it very comfortable.

Hired SOS to do some mold remediation. In the beginning, they communicated very well, answered all my questions, and were accommodating to my schedule. The crew on site were very professional as well. However, we did have some unfortunate breakdown in communication with the project coordinator and her supervisor. When the site crew started demoing the walls, they reported to their supervisors that there could be more mold than we initially thought. The project coordinator then tells us her guys told her there could be mold all over the house. (My husband went the same day to talk to the guys on site and they said they never said that.) Naturally, we start to panic and their first suggestion was “we could cut out more of the walls to be sure but it’s beyond the scope of work and it would cost more”. I told them I might be interested but we’d call back. In the end, we decided to get more testing done before demoing more walls, and when I communicated this with them, that’s when communication broke down. On the Wednesday they came out to do the initial demo, they said they’d be back on Friday to pick up their equipment and finish. Friday rolls around and we’re basically ghosted. Finally on Saturday, I was able to speak to another supervisor who said there was a big emergency and the crew’s schedules changed. I told him that no one communicated that to us and if they had, we would’ve been understanding, but I expressed I was more disappointed at the lack of professionalism in communication. Then he starts to ask me that he’s trying to understand if we’re going to do more work or not because I had indicated that we would. I told him I texted his team to say no we don’t want to, and that we’re going to get more testing done before we start ripping more walls. Then he gets a bit cheeky and says “well I hope you get a good team to test” and I told him we did, and they’d done testing for us before. I even told him that the tester did moisture readings (on a rainy too, which is even better because they can see leaks) and there was no reason to believe there were any other areas of concern. He then said “well my guys know what mold looks like and there looks like there might be mold all over the house”. And this is the reason that at least in CA, testing and remediation are done separately to avoid conflicts of interest. It is my belief that they thought they could get more money out of us because of the “alleged” mold they discovered and once we said no, they didn’t care anymore. At the time of the this review, I am still waiting to get the results from the additional testing and if it does come back as positive for more mold, I will be working with another company. We’re first-time homebuyers and it’s our fault for not shopping around for more quotes initially, but when we shared the cost of this mold remediation, other contractors told us this was a lot for the little work they did. Tl;Dr: they started as professional, communication broke down when we didn’t want them to do additional work, and they did come finish the work. Will not be using them again. I could’ve written a completely disparaging review, but I wanted to share my entire experience so that other customers can come to their own conclusions.

Disgusting, money-grabbing company. They take advantage of people's situations. I specifically asked them if they worked with insurance, they responded yes, and then never communicated with my insurance. They came in and left machines in our bathroom (we asked why since we weren't using the bathroom and they said they fans would turn on if the bathroom reached over 80 degrees, which wouldn't happen since the bathroom was inoperable). TWO days later, they asked us for our insurance information - something they would have if they had contacted our insurance in the first place, but they never did. On the FOURTH day, they director sent us an invoice for the deductible, which was a red flag because why hadn't they been in communication with our insurance? We called our insurance and our insurance company had never heard of or heard from this company. We canceled the job due to their lack of communication with our insurance company and aggressive contact for payment. In response, they directly sent a bill charging over $2,000 for the service call ($750) and leaving their unused fans in our inoperable bathroom for four days (remainder). It's like they purposely dragged the days to collect money, because everything they charged for could've been handled the same day (correct steps would've been to 1: contact our insurance and 2: send an itemized bill to the correct party same-day). We sent a message to their supervisor to request a more reasonable price as the charge was outrageous and no actual "services" had been conducted, but the supervisor never responded, just the aggressive collections department two weeks later. I implore you to take your services elsewhere. Hiring this company is a costly mistake. Please note that I contacted them to ask them to make it right and in response, they sent an email from the collections department.

Different trucks fully wrapped showed up at my house and they went to town! After they set up plastic walls, heavy duty machines they demoed my living room wall and kitchen.
